Our Journey
My name is Alex Bowman and I am the founder of Aceface.
At the age of 36 I guess I am a little late off the starting block to take the plunge from my 9-5 job to go self employed in order to follow my dream of creating my own original clothing brand.
In 2019 I decided that no time would be the right time to take a leap of faith and start my own brand. Having a family myself made it even more daunting, but I had never felt more confident that it was the right thing to do.
To begin with, with little funds and no design I had to get together a little cash. After selling nearly everything I had that was no use to me on Ebay it was time to think about what my brand would be called. So one night me and my wife sat to watch one of my all time favourite films called Quadrophenia. The idea was that we would sit to watch it to be inspired by the colours and hope that a vision of the brand would spring to mind. But by the end of the film, apart from being desperate to blow my cash on a Lambretta, some new shades, and book a weekend to Brighton I was no further forward. The next day it was time to put pen to paper and start to think about what my brand was going to look like. I knew it needed to be cool, it needed to have an element of mod, and it needed to be inspired by all the things that inspired me. My love of Music Oasis, The Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, The kinks , to name a few all of which play a big part of my life. It had to be colourful like my trainer collection and most importantly it had to be for everyone. Then it dawned on me... why don't I name it Aceface? (one of the characters from Quadrophenia) and arguably one of the coolest ever mods?? And that was that! Aceface was born!
Our logo, created by my incredibly talented cousin Claire Marsden, happened after a telephone brief of what I had in mind. The Brief was, a mod man wearing john Lennon style glasses, a bucket hat, and finally wearing a parka jacket. The design had to be simple, symmetrical and have the ability to be able to change the colours for various designs.... and she nailed it! The design blew me away when I saw it. It was just what I had in mind. It only needed a few tweaks and it was perfect!
After months of research and buying enough t-shirts to clothe my family of 7 for life, I started to find the quality of material that I was looking for. I knew that quality was so important... the times that I have bought T-shirts online myself, my hopes and expectations shattered after only one wash, my brand could not and will not disappoint!
As some of you may have seen, our Aceface Brand has been very busy and hands on supporting artists across all genres and people who inspire us from different walks of life..
We are a growing brand and very excited with the direction the Aceface label is heading, we have enjoyed collaborating with inspiring individuals transforming them to be a part of the Aceface brand and this excites us to be working with such amazing artists!
With the above said, we have quickly identified that there is a market to cater for band style t-shirts and merchandise. We have been approached by a number of artists that would like to have a T-shirt for their fans to purchase but don’t know how, or have looked and found the process costly, time consuming and difficult to manage with their busy schedules. Aceface have developed a simple solution to deliver your very own t-shirts to your fans hassle free, where we take care of everything from start to finish giving a great experience and developing strong relationships along the way benefiting ll involved, and what’s more it’s absolutely free to do.
Please contact us direct for further information or see our collaborations page to register your interest.
With that said, WELCOME to ACEFACE! I hope you love Aceface as much as I do. Look out for future designs, one step at a time.
